First and foremost, if you are concerned about sharing your email address with us, don't be. We hate spam too, and we will never send you any unsolicited messages. In addition, we will not share your information with anyone unless it is necessary to do so in the normal operation of the site.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Several of our services offer communications with you by email. We use a third-party service called Drip to manage our email list. As a result, your email address and basic information will be processed by their service and servers as needed to implement those features. Apart from the uses mentioned in this and other sections of this document, we do not share your email address.
All subscriptions to our service that involve email require a "double opt-in", meaning that you will receive a confirmation email with a link to verify your intent to receive further emails from us. In addition, all email subscription messages feature an easily accessible link to unsubscribe.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Data Collected to Manage Your Membership
At checkout, we will collect your name, email address, username, and password. This information is used to setup your account for our site. If you are redirected to an offsite payment gateway to complete your payment, we may store this information in a temporary session variable to setup your account when you return to our site.
At checkout, we may also collect your billing address and phone number. This information is used to confirm your credit card. The billing address and phone number are saved by our site to prepopulate the checkout form for future purchases and so we can get in touch with you if needed to discuss your order.
At checkout, we may also collect your credit card number, expiration date, and security code. This information is passed to our payment processor (Stripe) to process your purchase. Only the last 4 digits of your credit card number and the expiration date are saved by our site to use for reference and to send you an email if your credit card will expire before the next recurring payment.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your site preferences.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
For those who don’t want even this minimal level of tracking, Google also offers a complete opt-out tool that you can install in your browser. You can find it here.
Google Analytics Demographic Tracking
In addition to the basic Google Analytics setup, this site utilizes Google’s tracking of user demographics. This uses Google’s technology to gather and share with us aggregated data about our users, such as the percentage of visitors who are male or female, the average age of visitors to the site, and similar data. None of this data available to us from Google is targeted at specific individuals, but is instead an aggregate total that allows us to better understand our audience.
We do not provide any personal information about our users to Google or any other advertiser. The data provided is only that which is generated by your browser through your visits to our site. Additionally, the same Google-provided opt-out mechanisms are effective for preventing their collection of demographic data.
Facebook and the other social networks have been in the news frequently of late, for allowing companies to abuse the data they collect from across the web. You will be pleased to hear that our site does not provide any data to Facebook or the other social networks. The network share buttons that you may see on our site are passive links that do not transmit any data to the social network unless you click on them to share information about our site. This is in stark contrast to the many sites on the Internet that communicate with Facebook every time a visitors arrives at their site.
Having said that, we would love to have you recommend our site to friends via the social networks links that we provide. If you like our services, this is one of the best ways that you can support our efforts. But it’s completely up to you, our user. We do not register visits with any social network without your explicit action to do so.
Who we share your data with
The third party services described above receive data about your visit as needed to implement their services, such as payment processing, analytics, etc. Beyond those relationships, we do not share data about you with other third parties.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Where we send your data
This site is hosted in the United States, and uses encryption for all communications with our server. Other services as mentioned above may also receive data from your interaction with our site, such as Google Analytics, Stripe (our payment processor), Akismet (for comment spam filtering).
How we protect your data
All communications between you and our server are encrypted. Similarly, all data transferred between the server and our service providers use an encryption standard.
We use our best efforts to protect our server and infrastructure from data breaches and data exposure, including frequent software updates, monitoring of logs, and daily backups.
